Frequently Asked Questions
What does Hull Value include?

The Hull Value includes the actual value of the boat and motor and/or engine, plus any fixed equipment. The value of the trailer should not be included in this figure.
What is the difference between Replacement Cost and Actual Cash Value?

Replacement Cost is the cost to repair or replace the item with like kind and quality. For example, a boat and trailer were purchased five years ago for $10,000 and insured for replacement cost. In the event of a total loss, the insured would receive a check for $10,000 or the actual cost to replace the boat.

Actual Cash Value is the replacement cost of the item at the time of the loss, minus depreciation. For example, a boat and trailer were purchased five years ago for $10,000 and insured for that amount. In the current marketplace, the boat and trailer are depreciated to a value of $7,000. If the boat and trailer were destroyed, the policy would pay the depreciated value of $7,000.
